These barbell-form cufflinks by JAR are a sculptural homage to friendship. One bloodstone link, inlaid with single-cut diamonds, bears the initials B and E—for Barbara and Ernest Kafka, noted collectors who divided their time between New York and Provincetown. The other, in polished gold, is engraved with J and P, referencing the jeweler Joel Arthur Rosenthal and his partner, Pierre Jeannet. Created for longtime friends and frequent dinner companions—Barbara, a renowned food writer; Ernest, a psychoanalyst—the set reflects the intimacy of shared rituals. The cufflinks are presented in a signed box marked E.
